Wedding Spotlight:

Jennifer & Stephen

My husband and I had both been previously married and had large weddings, so when we got engaged, we decided to have a small wedding. I still wanted a perfect dress, location and ceremony, but something more intimate with just the two of us. I wanted to go the Caribbean where it is so beautiful and laid back.

We chose Jamaica because of the beautiful water, beaches, and plenty of shopping and activities. We married and honeymooned at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in St. James, Jamaica. The hotel assigned us a wedding coordinator that made our special day, June 10th, perfect and worry-free.

Our wedding day started out overcast and I was worried that it would rain. After we spent the morning laying around the beach and relaxing, I went to the salon to get my hair and makeup done.
I did not see Stephen again until I was walking towards the wedding gazebo, where he was standing. The rain clouds disappeared and a perfect sunset was painted in the sky. Our minister performed the ceremony, and we said our vows under the gazebo, which also had a beautiful view of the water.

After, we moved on to our reception where we had champagne and hors d’oeuvres. As a surprise, the florists had shaped a heart in the beach sand with Birds of Paradise and other tropical flowers for us to enjoy. The grounds of the Sandals Royal Caribbean are beautiful for pictures because of the colorful tropical flowers and lush plant life. After we finished taking pictures we sat down for a private candlelight dinner under the wedding gazebo. We even had our own private server who waited on us and brought us champagne. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day that I will never forget.

The next morning we had breakfast in our room and then we were off to enjoy some activities. For the rest of our stay we hired a taxi driver for excursions outside of the hotel. We went shopping in Ocho Rios, which was a few hours away; we saw Dunn’s River Falls and even did a zip line through the rain forests! It was also nice to interact with the Jamaican people. They were so kind and funny!

My destination wedding experience was exceptional because I didn’t have to worry about any details and I could just go with the flow. I was able to relax and enjoy my time with my new husband!
